Officer Elections

We have some wonderful candidates for each of our offices! Each of the candidates will introduce themselves to the Club Meeting Tues 1/31 in DAV 242.

The office of Treasurer has two candidates so we’ll be voting on that position during the meeting. For those who can’t make it Tuesday, email Nathan Schwagler at nschwagl@mail.usf.edu between Monday 1/30 and midnight on Tuesday 1/31. Please send the email from your USF email. Voting will be anonymous.

Offices to Be Voted Upon

Name Office Why? Short Bio
Jeff Baird Treasurer I’ve started three businesses and done most of my own accounting. After earning my International Baccalaureate diploma, I headed to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy to play football. As part of my cadet sailing period, I circumnavigated the globe and worked on cargo ships. I found room for innovation, but my suggestions were dismissed. As someone who could find new methods for everything from shoelace-tying to shipping methods, I decided to go out on my own.I spend my free time reading, cooking, sailing, biking and studying economics. I am a caffeine addict, a sandwich expert and an amateur writer.
Jonnathan De Jesus Treasurer I believe that i am the perfect person because I simply have time to do the work. I am also very motivated to learn what it takes. My name is Jonnathan De Jesus and I am a Sophomore at USFSP. I was born in Puerto Rico and can speak Spanish and English fluently. I have three younger brothers, two live here in Florida and the other is back in Puerto Rico. I enjoy learning no matter what the topic is and also like having a fun time. I am in a good mood pretty much all day except for in the mornings.

Jessica Barnett President I have experience solving problems, making things more efficient and managing teams of people. As project manager at a fantastic agency, consultant, co-founder, entrepreneur, student and community advocate, I spend every day doing what I love with some of the best people on earth. Lately, you’ll usually find me working on: defining the scope of projects, information architecture, sitemaps, wireframes, timelines, project management, UI/UX. That’s a fancy way of saying: I work closely with clients to understand their needs and then work with developers and designers to create solutions. I also work with clients on brand and social media strategy and help ensure their customers are engaging with the brand. I’m passionate about the tech, creative and startup community in Tampa Bay (and beyond). I’m driven, energetic, a compulsive organizer and a natural leader. I devour sushi, Wikipedia and TechCrunch ravenously.

Michael Huss Webmaster I am a highly motivated person who pursues excellence in my working environment. I know CSS, HTML5, Dreamweaver, Adobe, and social networks. I am a self-starter trying to achieve excellence in my field of work by obtaining a higher education through the University of South Florida by obtaining a degree in Information Systems Management, which will enable me to better understand the fundamentals of the information systems process and help me better promote my own business Netwire Solutions, LLC which was established in 2003 with my partner John Dritsas and incorporated as a limited liability corporation in 2008.
Jordan Waters Historian I like to get things done in a timely manner. If given the opportunity to become Historian, I vow to be efficient at every task provided. My name is Jordan Waters. I am a freshman in my second semester at USFSP. I come from a close knit family predominately in Orlando, FL. I am always looking for ways to get more involved around campus so when the time is right I like to take advantage of opportunities given to me. As a freshman, I appreciate genuine criticism, without it I feel it is impossible to learn from my mistakes. I enjoy hearing different peoples point of views and I also enjoy expressing myself through ways of art such as drawing or photography. Along with that, I like to spend leisure time doing things like longboarding, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family. For me, using my time wisely, making every day count, doing the things I love to do is what enjoying life is all about. I try my best to make sure every single day is meaningful in some way.
